Camille Roos is an intuitive painter and public artist whose work conveys the metaphysical qualities of place. Based in Massachusetts, Camille’s art is the result of immersing herself in conversation with the living landscape and subtle realm.
Camille was born to a Dutch-Quebecois family of inventors, doctors, sailors, and mystics who inspired her connection to materiality. She went on to study Tibetan Buddhism, energy medicine, primitive skills, and death-work while mothering two children as a young adult.
Her pieces emerge as dynamic, musical portraits — invoking color, form, and texture as information, attuning viewers to their primary, sensory intelligence.
Camille approaches her work receptively — responding to somatic cues from her environment to convey the coarseness, luminescence, or line-work of intangible subjects that are present in place.
Experiential installations further expand her artistic practice, where Camille creates outdoor sanctuaries for public contemplation using found material harvested on-site.
